George Tkalych got his start in fishing with a job at the Department of Natural Resources, when working in the Fisheries and Wildlife division. He was the senior biological assistant; and he would be flown in to many lakes in Canada to assess the different types of fish, do echo tests and make maps of depth, shallow spots, reefs and more.
